A Better World by Design is a three-day internationally acclaimed conference held annually at Brown & RISD campuses in Providence, RI that connects students, professionals, and individuals from a variety of disciplines in order to build a global community of socially conscious and passionate innovators.

Eco-RI Zero Trash Birthday Bash
Celebrate Our Birthday with Local Food, Zero Waste

News is celebrating its second anniversary with a zero-waste birthday bash, and you’re invited.
Candita Clayton, owner of the Candita Clayton Studio in Hope Artiste Village, is graciously hosting the party, which will be held Friday, Sept. 23, from 6-10 p.m. The event will feature a locally sourced menu, including Narragansett Creamery cheese and something for your sweet tooth, home-brewed beer, Yacht Club beverages, a silent auction, local art for sale, local wine and no waste left behind.
Tickets cost $25 each, and include admission, an ecoRI News pint glass and some fabulous culinary delights made with hyperlocal food from Rhode Island farmers’ market vendors. Some of the hops used for the homebrew were grown at City Farm in Providence. Click here, to read more.

A bit about the Pawtucket / Wintertime Farmers Market
Open every Saturday & Wednesday except 12/25 and 12/29. Snow or shine, the Wintertime Farmers Market is open.
Local food in every season. The chickens are still laying eggs. The salad greens are so leafy and crisp. The onions and garlic are packing spice. The Met
The MET is now officially open.
The new 600 capacity nightclub is located in Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI.
The club is a versatile music room booking rock, folk, punk, blues and more. Longtime booking agent Jack Reich comments, "The Met is the mid-sized room Rhode Island has been missing for some time." The club will serve food and offer free parking.
The opening line-up includes shows by a wide variety of national touring groups including:
- guitarist Joe Louis Walker - whose new CD just won "Best Blues Album of the Year" at the Blues Music Awards
- Jenny and Johnny, featuring Rilo Kiley singer, Jenny Lewis
- and Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks, performing their "Holidaze in Hicksville" show.
THE MET will also feature local and regional artists including a special two night reunion show with Pawtucket's own The Wild Turkey Band and Hometown Rockers, who have not performed since the 1980's.
Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel will continue at it's current location and is celebrating it's 35th anniversary July 30th with a show by Social Distortion.
